PAAC Alpha Day at the Capitol [05/03/2011]

Just a brief message that registration for Alpha Day at the Capitol is officially open. I, Mark Barnes will be prepared to take payments in Novemeber 2010.

A bus will be available to transport you from Philadelphia to Harrisburg on May 3, 2011. This is an all-day affair which includes bus travel, a private lunch with members of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus, dinner, and live entertainment at the St. Moritz Supper Club which is owned by Brother Mack Granderson.

The total investment for each of those items is $100. If your wish is to drive your private vehicle, then the expense is $50 for lunch and dinner. Bus seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. The bus is a 56-seat luxury coach.

Please be advised that you are welcome to bring your son, mentee, or scholarship recipient to this historic event. The expense is the same for them, however. This is reminiscent of the Million Man March in 1995. This event represents a manhood training opportunity for the youth that we have claimed as our own.

Event payments must be made no later than Monday, February 28, 2011. If you are writing a check or money order, please make it out to Zeta Theta Lambda Chapter, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. We accept partial payment of $50 now, and $50 later. But the full balance must be made by February 28th.

Do not hesitate to contact to contact me (mbarnes844@comcast.net) should you have questions about this event. I am encouraging Zeta Omicron Lambda to completely fill this bus. I know we can do it.

Kindly fraternal,

Brother Mark Barnes
